DAL PALAK RECIPE <br />Ingredients: <br />Toor dal: 1 cup(150 gms) <br />Tamarind: lemon size <br />Spinach: 2 cups <br />Onion: 1 chopped <br />Red chilly: 2 <br />Green chilly: 8 <br />Garlic: 3 <br />Turmeric powder: ¼ tsp <br />Salt: to taste <br />Curry leaves: few <br />Hing: pinch <br />Water: 4 cups <br />Coriander leaves: few <br />Method: <br /> In a pressure cooker add toor dal and 3 cups water and cook for 3 whistles. <br /> In a bowl soak tamarind. <br />In a pan heat oil add red chilly, cumin seeds, hing and satute for one min. <br />Add chopped garlic, turmeric powder, grenn chilly, curry leaves and onions and cook till onions are soft. <br />Add spinach and cook for 10 to 15 mins or till spinach is cooked. <br />Now add cooked toor dal, tamarind juice, 1 cup water, salt to taste and cook for 5 to 7 mins. <br />Finely add chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame. <br />Spinach Dal is ready to be served.
